What may and may not be published or sent in Chakloon, and what we do when the rules are broken.

Version 1.0In force from October 16, 2026Updated: October 16, 2026All versions

Where these rules apply

These rules apply wherever people publish or send something in the Chakloon package: posts, comments and profiles on the social network, private chats, groups and channels in Chakloon Chat, Chak profile pages and short links, @handles, and ads. They are part of the Terms of Service. Some services add their own rules, for example the Advertising Policy and the Chak Acceptable Use Policy.

The rules apply to text, images, video, audio, links, files, names and avatars alike, and to material generated with AI tools.

Illegal content

Do not publish or send anything that is illegal under the law that applies to it. This includes material that infringes the rights of others, terrorist content, calls to commit crimes, sale of illegal goods and unlawful disclosure of personal data. If something is illegal, we remove it or disable access to it, where needed only in the country where it is illegal, even where these rules do not name it.

Hate and violence

  • Do not attack people because of their ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or similar characteristics.
  • Do not threaten anyone, call for violence or praise it.
  • Do not support terrorist or violent extremist organisations, recruit for them or spread their propaganda.
  • Do not show extreme violence for its own sake. Reporting on war, crime or history is allowed when it informs and does not glorify.

Harassment

  • Do not insult, intimidate or humiliate people, alone or as a group.
  • Do not keep contacting someone who has made clear they do not want it, and do not get around a block.
  • Do not encourage anyone to harm themselves. If someone writes about hurting themselves, report it so that we can act, and if a life is in danger, call the emergency number 112 or the local emergency number first.

Sexual content

  • Never any sexual content involving minors: no images, drawings, generated material, texts or role play that sexualise anyone under 18. This is set out in the Child Safety Standards and is never tolerated.
  • No sexually explicit material on the social network, in Chak, in comments, in public groups and channels or in ads. People aged 16 can use these services.
  • Nudity is allowed in art, education, health and news, when it is not sexual.
  • Do not send sexual content to anyone who did not ask for it.
  • Never share intimate images of a person without their consent, and never threaten to do so.

Spam and manipulation

  • Do not send mass unsolicited messages, repeated identical posts or misleading links.
  • Do not run fake accounts, buy or sell likes, followers or accounts, or coordinate accounts to make something look more popular than it is.
  • Do not use bots to post, follow or message in a way a person would not.
  • Do not spread malware or phishing.

Impersonation

Do not pretend to be another person, organisation, brand or official body, including us. Parody and fan accounts are allowed when it is clear from the name and profile that they are not the original.

Privacy of others

  • Do not publish other people's private data, such as home addresses, phone numbers, documents, private messages or location, without their consent.
  • Do not share photos or videos of people in private situations without their consent.
  • Do not collect data about other users.

Intellectual property

Publish only what you made yourself or have the right to publish. Quotation, criticism, review, caricature, parody and pastiche are allowed within the limits of copyright law. Rights holders can report infringing material through the same notice procedure as other illegal content, see Report illegal content.

Dangerous goods and activities

Do not sell, buy or arrange weapons, ammunition, explosives, drugs, counterfeit documents or other goods and services that are illegal or require a licence you do not have. Do not give instructions for making weapons or explosives or for causing serious harm.

Fraud

Do not deceive people to get their money, data or access: no fake shops or investments, no fake giveaways, no requests for passwords or card details, no pyramid schemes. We never ask for your password in a message.

What we do

When content or behaviour breaks these rules, a person at our moderation desk decides on a measure in proportion to the harm, taking into account the context and freedom of expression. We may:

  • remove the content or disable access to it
  • reduce its visibility
  • suspend or close the account
  • suspend payments or the display of ads
  • refuse a handle or a short link

Accounts that repeatedly publish manifestly illegal content are suspended after a warning. In serious cases, such as child sexual abuse material or threats to life, we act at once and inform the authorities. You receive a statement of reasons and can appeal. See Content moderation and appeals.

How to report

  • Use the Report button on the post, comment, message, conversation or profile. It is available on the social network, in Chakloon Chat and in other services where it is offered.
  • Block a person who bothers you.
  • Write to abuse@chakloon.com about spam, phishing and abuse, and to child-safety@chakloon.com about anything that endangers a child.
  • To notify illegal content under the DSA, use the form on the Report illegal content page or write to legal@chakloon.com.
